A one-person open-source studio. I build apps that run on your machine, AI included, and I leave the source open so anyone can see how they work.
01 Projects
-
Oriel
frameworkApps in Zig. UI with the web.
Build desktop and mobile apps with a React, Vue, Svelte or plain HTML frontend and a Zig backend, joined by typed commands. System WebView or an experimental native renderer, signed updates, and built-in local AI and speech.
-
GhostPen
MITYour AI. Your machine. Your words.
Select text in any app to rewrite, proofread or translate it with a model that runs on your computer. Also does dictation, live captions, meeting transcripts and read-aloud, all offline.
-
GhostReel
MITSearch inside your videos, then cut them into a story, locally.
Indexes your footage with speech transcripts and keyframe descriptions, so you can find a moment by what was said or shown. Draft a cut by chatting with a model and export to MP4 or Premiere Pro.
-
HollerShare
GPL-3.0Share files and text with Android over Quick Share.
Send files, links and clipboard text between your computer and Android phones on the same network. Transfers are encrypted, confirmed with a PIN, and need the receiver's approval. Comes with a headless CLI.
-
GhostPantry
MITA little less waste.
Take a photo of your fridge or pantry and it detects items and estimates how much is left, then builds a shopping list for what's running low. Works offline, with on-device vision.
02 Why forEach
Because nobody starts out knowing how. You start by poking at something you love until it does what you want, and it goes faster when someone has left the source open for you, and somebody else is happy to explain it.

The first loop
I learned to code because I wanted to change the rules of a game. No classes, just forums, late nights, and a lot of broken builds. Still my favourite way to learn.

2009 · Venezuela
I started EscuelaWeb and spent years teaching web development. The best moment was always the same one: somebody's first loop running and the look on their face.

Community, out loud
In RubyVE, the Ruby community back home, I organised our podcasts and got people on the mic to share what they'd learned. That's when I understood: a community is a loop where everyone gets a turn.

A new home in Chile
New country, same habit. Nearly two decades now of distributed systems, edge devices and cloud, carried from one side of the continent to the other.

Now, after bedtime
There's a tiny human at home, so most commits land once the house goes quiet. Everything I build here stays open, for each developer who wants to read it, fork it, or learn from it.

03 Who's behind it
I'm Sergio Marin, a senior software engineer in Santiago, Chile, with Venezuelan roots. By day I work on distributed systems, edge compute and cloud orchestration, and lately on AI infrastructure and MCP servers.
